My path to being St. Thomas’ newsletter editor began with a broken arm in 1954. I later worked for the doctor who had set my arm, and that job led to my 1961 employment at Hewlett-Packard (now Agilent) -- first as an electronic technician and mostly as a technical writer. My first day at HP I met a friend who I took to the Sunnyvale Senior Center one September 1999 Saturday afternoon, after which we discovered (or were led to) St. Thomas. Mike Ferrito welcomed us and I’ve been coming back ever since.

When St. Thomas needed a newsletter editor in the spring of 2001, I volunteered (after waiting long enough to give anyone else who might want the job a chance).
