Participating at ODB
- Prayer
ODB asks for your prayers for this program and the people it serves, and for
the hungry and poor in Santa Clara County and throughout the world.
- Volunteer
ODB often has openings for servers, cooks, set-up people, clean-up people,
grocery buyers and others. Most volunteers work about three to four hours, one
day per week. Extra volunteers are needed during the summer. ODB can arrange
for high school groups, church groups and service clubs to participate. Please
contact the Program Coordinator at (408) 736-4108 for further details.
- Donations in Kind
In accordance with health regulations ODB can accept commercially prepared,
canned or packaged foods; turkeys and hams and commercial meat products; and
home-grown fruits and vegetables. Please call the
Program Coordinator to arrange for drop off of donations on a Monday,
Wednesday or Friday morning.
- Contributions
As ODB has virtually no overhead, no expensive fund-raising campaign and only
one paid part-time employee, you can be sure that your contribution will go to
feed the hungry. In addition, other
contributors helps to stretch your donations. A dollar contribution
provides one nutritious meal for a hungry person; $10 feeds a full table; and
$250 feeds the entire dining hall for one day. Please mail your contributions
to the St. Thomas Church office with your checks
made out payable to "Our Daily Bread".
